How seats are counted
A seat is a person with app access, measured per day. The month is billed on the average, so nobody pays for a whole month of someone who left on the third.
The unit is a seat-day
Every day, we count the people in your organization who have App access switched on. That number is that day’s seats. At the end of the month, the days are averaged and that average is what the invoice is based on, minus the free five.
A person who had access for ten days of a thirty-day month is a third of a seat. Someone you switch on today starts counting tomorrow.
What does not count
- People who are In directory but have no App access. Listing is free.
- People you turned off. From the next day they are gone from the count.
- Admins as such. An admin only counts if they also have App access to the mobile app.
Why per day
A monthly snapshot could be gamed, and it punished honest teams: hire on the 2nd, pay for the whole month. Counting per day means you pay for exactly the access you gave, for exactly as long as you gave it.

The Billing page shows the current count, the average so far this period, and what the next invoice will be. Open Why? next to the amount for the breakdown.
